2009

2009 began with three trees falling in the park. This, the largest, took out three sections of our fence.
The remains of the biggest tree are now placed along a hillside in the park, to be positioned to divert water flow when it rains.
In May, not to be outdone by the Boy Scouts, a local Girl Scout designed and built two water stations. She even arranged for the donation of two vinyl water barrels where visitors could pour their water for the dogs. Here, Laine, Lexie P., and her proud father pose beside the first of the two stations. (In case you're wondering, the vinyl barrels could not withstand the repeated abuse by humans. We hope to get new barrels this year.)
The main play area of the park looked like this just five months ago! (More photos can be found on the About the Park page.)
This shot is taken from outside the back gates. Look at the 4 ft. of soil and woodchips that have collected along the fence in that corner! Go take a look at that same spot now.
At the end of a long project and proud of the accomplishments, Eagle Scout candidate Trevor Alexander poses with Laine Sweezey, president of JAWITP.
